| Abstract/Contents: | Describes an effective maintenance program for "producing favorable conditions for the development and growth of vigorous, healthy turf." Includes soil testing, applying limestone, and using nitrogen fertilization. Also addresses mowing, watering, weed and insect control, aerification/cultivation, deep subsurface cultivation, and repair. Concludes that "natural turfgrass athletic fields for various activities can be successfully achieved when based on proper construction, establishment, and maintenance procedures." |
