Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the potential impact of a United States (U.S.) Supreme Court Ruling. States that "the court in February [2006] heard oral arguments in two Michigan cases that challenged restrictions imposed by federal officials on developers who sought to build on wetland sites." Explains that "for golf developers, that could reduce the cost of some projects by as much as 20 percent and speed the approval process." Concludes that "even if the court rules in favor of the developers, some states such as Florida or California would continue to keep tight restrictions on wetlands development." |
