| Question: | "The recommended August fertilizer has not yet been applied owing to wet weather. We are of the opinion that the "Heads" are now so soft due to the amount of rain that the dressing may make the surface more easily damaged. Would you say whether the fertilizer should be applied?" |

| Answer/Response: | "Bearing in mind the condition of the green when we recently saw it we feel that the fertilizer recommended should be applied before the end of this month. The condition of the "Heads" should not really be used as a guide to the green's fertilizer requirements. In any case the fertilizer mixture recommended will not increase the succulence of the grass so making it more easily damaged." |
