Question: | "Will you name the enclosed weed and inform us whether selective weedkillers will control it. The weed is spreading rapidly in a lawn." |
Answer/Response: | "The weed is Cotula dioica, a New Zealand plant commonly known as Soldier's Button. It was introduced into this country for rockeries and crazy pavings from which it often spreads to lawns and can become a menace. No research work on the control of the plant has been done but you might try repeat applications of selective weedkiller." |
