| Question: | "We are considering the installation of a watering system for our greens and we wonder if you have carried out tests with the materials we propose to use. For piping purposes the club proposes to use "Polyorc A" polythene tubing to British standard 1972/53 normal gauge. We would be grateful for any information you have regarding the suitability of this tubing." |

| Answer/Response: | "We have not made any experiments with "Polyorc A" polythene tubing but have used Alkathene tubing made to the same British standard. Lengths of this tubing have been used both in and over the ground, the latter being exposed to the weather conditions for about ten winters. We are satisfied with the tubing and we are sure that you would find "Polyorc A" satisfactory." |
