Abstract/Contents: | Profiles take-all patch, a turf disease caused by the fungus Gaeumannomyces graminis var. avenae. States that "as frustrating as take-all patch is for golf course superintendents to control, it is equally as frustrating for [those] as the TDL [Turfgrass Diagnostic Lab] to diagnose." Explains that "the phenomenon of decreasing take-all severity has been observed in other continuously cropped systems, such as wheat, and has come to be known as take-all decline." States that "take-all patch can infect a new green through machinery such as mowers and core aerifiers." Describes two take-all patch studies, stating that "the results of both studies will be available [summer of 2007]." |
