Abstract/Contents:Discusses the construction of the sports fields at Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, Central London. States that "in the latter part of 2003, the construction process on the Wood Lane Playing Fields began." Describes the grow-in period from August 2004-August 2005 and details the maintenance practices used on these fields, including aeration, nutrition, mowing, and chemical applications. Concludes that "the playing fields have provided excellent playing surfaces throughout [2006], and should continue to do so. No matches have been cancelled since the construction of these playing fields. Many compliments have already been made by players and spectators about the quality of the playing surfaces. The main issues that have arisen consist of controlling usage and wear, increasing the amount of liquid fertiliser [fertilizer] applications, pin-pointing exact locations of all micro-climates and increasing water retention."
