Abstract/Contents: | "Fludioxonil is a phenylpyrrole fungicide recently labeled for the control of turfgrass anthracnose (Colletotricum cereale). It is a single-site mode of action fungicide and thus is at risk for resistance development. In order to develop methods to detect potential resistance development for this pathogen to fludioxonil, a baseline sensitivity distribution was determined. Sixty single conidia isolates of the fungus were collected from locations not previously exposed to fludioxonil. Isolates were tested on 1/4-PDA agar plates amended with 0 to 32 mg/L of fludioxonil at 4-fold concentrations. Fifty percent effective dose values (ED50 values) were determined by linear regression through the generated dose response curves. ED50 values ranged from 0.0010 to 2.5 mg/L with mean of 0.60 mg/L. The in vivo control of isolates with ED50 values in the upper portion of the distribution are being investigated." |
