| Question: | "Our green was in very good condition but over the weekend the river flooded it to a depth of 6 ft. We have now been able to inspect the green and find it in a pitiable condition being covered with debris and silt. Would you please advise us on treatment and if you feel it necessary to come to see the green." |

| Answer/Response: | "We are sorry to hear your green has suffered from the flooding. If a large amount of debris and silt covers it then it should be removed as soon as possible by shovel taking care not to damage the green's surface. When the surface is sufficiently dry vigorous brushing should be done. Alternatively if only a light deposit has been left it might be possible to wash this off with a hose pipe finishing up by sweeping when the surface dries. Solid tine forking should be repeated when the green is clean and a preventive application of fungicide should be made. If after cleaning the condition of the green still worries you we shall be pleased to inspect it." |
