Question:"We refer to your recommendations on the application of ground industrial sulphur to parts of our 5th and 18th fairways. Would you indicate the ratio of sulphur to carrier of sand."
Answer/Response:"We suggest that the required amount of sulphur be bulked with sufficient lime free sand to aid its even distribution. The amount of sand is not really very important but the following is suggested as a minimum, more may be used for additional safety: 18th fairways: 1 oz. sulphur plus 3 oz. sand to give a rate of application of 4 oz. per sq. yd. 5th fairway: 1 1/2 oz. sulphur plus 2 1/2 oz. sand to give a total application of 4 oz. per sq. yd."
