| Question: | "The soil samples from the 9th green of our West course and the 6th and 9th green on the East course which were requested in your report have been despatched today for analysis. We would be pleased to have your recommendations on suitable fertilizer treatment in due course." |

| Answer/Response: | "The three samples submitted to us have been analysed. We find these greens are quite low in supplies of available potash. The phosphate is variable. The 6th East course green is well supplied, the 9th West course green is moderate but the 9th East shows a noticeable deficiency. In view of the differences in phosphate we think it would be a good idea to have some soil samples from all the greens on both courses tested and we suggest you send these to us. The sample from each green should be made up of 50 to 60 hollow tine cores taken from all over the green. Each lot of fork cores from each green should be packed in a strong container such as a polythene bag or golf ball box and each one should be labelled with the number of the green in question." |
