Abstract/Contents: | Discusses an error made in a previous TurfCraft article concerning the loss of grass at West Leagues bowling green in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. States that "the fact is that all the applications of lime had made no difference to the pH reading." Discusses synthetic greens and possible problems with them, stating that "when a synthetic green needs to be renovated - in other words, replaced for levelling - the expense is horrendous compared with the renovation and maintenance of natural grass greens." Concludes that "more needs to be done to educate clubs" concerning synthentic and natural grass greens. |
