Abstract/Contents:Profiles seashore paspalum. States that "paspalum is gaining in popularity among turfgrass researchers because of its appearance, tolerance to heat and ability to flourish on water high in salt content. But experts admit there are still many unanswered questions surrounding the grass." Presents Randy Allen's, of Pine Lakes International Country Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, experience with seashore paspalum. Discusses the management of seashore paspalum, stating that "although paspalum's niche is its ability to handle water high in salt content, it must be flushed regularly with fresh water and also requires clean water for establishment." Also states that "many potential disease problems in paspalum can be averted through sound cultural practices."
