| Question: | "In your recommendation for a seeds mixture for our cricket square you refer to 'O.E.C.D. Certified' seed. Out of curiosity I would like to know what the letters 'O.E.C.D.' stand for." |

| Answer/Response: | "The initials O.E.C.D. stand for Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. This is a body which undertakes to set up and co-ordinate various international schemes in widely differing fields. The organisation's headquarters are in Paris. It is desirable to use seed which is certified, since it will be more reliable in its variety performance. Grass seed is sold under two principal certification schemes. British Certified seed is certified under a national scheme, whilst O.E.C.D. Certified seed is mainly seed from abroad which is certified within an internationally accepted framework of rules drawn up by O.E.C.D." |
