| Question: | "We are greatly concerned with the sward on our table which is badly discoloured. The enclosed sample of turf is fairly typical, what causes this?" |

| Answer/Response: | "Our Biologist has examined the turf and finds no disease present, but has noted that some of the leaves of the grasses are burnt, bleached and covered with fine crystals. It looks as though the damage has been caused by an overdose of fungicide. We quite often come across cases like this, and usually the jets on the sprayer are not functioning properly. The sward will probably recover from the damage - but if unsatisfactory areas remain by mid-winter it would be best to turf them." |
