Abstract/Contents:Describes an experiment conducted "to enhance, through genetic transformation, the ability of a turfgrass plant to tolerate oxidative stress in order for it to withstand adverse environmental conditions." Reports that "there were significant differences in winter survival and vigour among genotypes tested." Concludes that "further research is needed to conclude whether the addition of another superoxide dismutase (SoD) gene via genetic transformation is a feasible method for enhancing tolerance of turfgrass plants to stress conditions in the field."
