Abstract/Contents:Discusses science related to chemical use, stating that "the problem is that sometimes the science we hear about isn't really science at all." Details a study which reported a link between childhood cancer and pesticide use, explaining that "these researchers got together a group of mothers whose kids already had the disease, and another group of mothers whose kids didn't have the disease, and they asked both groups if they could recall any pesticide use in the time since a month before the child's birth." Explains that "the researches didn't perfrom any kind of double-blind study, where one group is exposed to the substance, another group is exposed to a placebo, and a control group is not exposed to anything; with the result being an unbiased picture of the effects of the substance."
