Abstract/Contents: | States that sports turf is "under normal [weather] conditions and regular [maintenance] rather resistant to plant and insect pests because [it is] intensively [...] used for matches. Bad weather, such as the cold and [humidity] in August 2005 [in Germany], may cause a significant increase [in the number of] pests. It is therefore important to notice them [as soon as possible] and take" steps to counter them immediately "to avoid damages" to the turf. "The most important [pests] are briefly presented so that it will be easier to draw a distinction between them. We also show the [...] possibilities and limits of [...] methods to combat these pests." |
