Abstract/Contents: | Describes a recommendation, made by a committee that reviews the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America's (GCSAA) expenditures, "that an honorarium for the outgoing president remain intact, while eliminating some travel perks." States that "the GCSAA board of directors will vote on whether to accept or reject those recommendations during the board's winter meeting [January] 12-13 [2007]." Also states that "in the report, which first was presented to board members in July, the task group concluded that a cash honorarium of $13,500 paid to past presidents is 'the right thing to do,' and that there should be 'no strings attached.'" Explains that "it has been standard practice for GCSAA board members to receive a $200 spending allowance per event for personal memorabilia...The task group's recommendations include eliminating such reimbursements." |
