| Abstract/Contents: | Details winter preparation procedures for irrigation systems. Lists steps, including to "turf off the water ot the irrigation system at the main valve"; set the automatic irrigation controller to the "rain" setting; "turn on each of the valves to release pressure in the pipes"; and "drain all of the water out of an irrigation components that might freeze." Describes the manual drain, automatic drain, and the "blow out" methods. Concludes that "winterization, if done properly can end up saving [one] money and headaches over the course of a year." |
