Abstract/Contents: | Profiles the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) of 1996. Discusses the major points of the FQPA, including "a health-based standard to replace the cost/benefit balancing standard that existed for raw foods." Concludes that "the Food Quality Protection Act gets credit for raising the bar higher for most pesticides used on food...public pressure needs to be kept on EPA [Environmental Protection Agency] to implement FQPA in the spirit in which it was created." |
