Abstract/Contents: | Profiles Riviera Country Club in South Miami, Florida. Describes maintenance issues at the club, stating that "it has always been difficult to grow good turf at this club. One of the basic problems is that topsoil is practically non-existant." Details the planting of 419 bermudagrass, "which was cut and sprigged into the existing turf" to help combat the lack of topsoil. Also describes divot repair at the club, stating that the club provides "each golf car with a bucket of good soil and a small scoop." Concludes that "this effort at Riviera Country Club demonstrates many things: The golfer's pride and concern for his golf course, good communications within the club organization [and] good communications with the members." |
