| Abstract/Contents: | "MON-4621 has shown great promise for growth regulation of cool season turfgrass in recent years. Primary activity has been on the species Kentucky Bluegrass, Red Fescue, Tall Fescue, and Perennial Ryegrass. Results of field testing in 1982-1984 indicate MON-4621 reduces vegetative growth of these species by 50% for 6-8 weeks at 2.23 kg ai/ha. Results indicate higher rates of application do not significantly increase length or percentage of growth reduction. Seedhead suppression levels of 90% were also obtained at the 2.23 kg ai/ha rate. Control of vegetative or reproductive growth was unaffected by mowings before or after application provided the material was washed into the root zone. Results indicate overlap safety of 3-4x without significant reductions in turfgrass quality." |
