Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "to determine if externally applied sugar solutions have an effect on the incidence or severity of dollar spot or brown patch diseases on a bentgrass green." States that "sugars (carbohydrates) are important percursors of several important disease resistance factors, including phenolics, phytoalexins, and lignin." Explains that "a disease resistance factor is any chemical or physical trait that allows a plant to resist infection." |
