Abstract/Contents:Discusses field preparation for a renovation program, starting with gathering and recording details such as number of sites, number and types of fields at each site, and field conditions. Recommends developing site maps and detailed recorded assesments of conditions. Discusses developing a routine maintenance and preventative maintenance program, including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, irrigating, and controlling pests. Recommends an organized system with set staff responsibilities and detailed records. Also recommends continuous inspection and evaluation of all fields in order to eliminate major surprises and strengthen relationships with those in charge of the sites. States the need to prioritize renovation with safety coming first in order to work within a budget. Explains that the right equipment and the most skilled operator will save time and money in the long run. Suggests communicating plans for fields with coaches in order to ensure understanding and cooperation in regards to rennovations.
