Presents a study by conducted Horticulture Australia Ltd "to evaluate the adaptation of various genotypes to a diverse range of climatic and soil conditions" in which "17 genotypes are...being assessed at industry sites in Queensland, NSW [New South Wales], Victoria, ACT [Australian Capital Territory] and Western Australia." Also presents a study conducted at the University of Western Austraila (UWA) Turf Research Facility to investigate turf water use and drought tolerance. Reports that "two of the soft-leaf buffalograss genotypes used more water than the old-style common buffalograss." Mentions that "another area that is being investigated is the performance of various buffalo genotypes on a calcareous soil."
