| Abstract/Contents: | Presents Golf Course Superintendents Association of America's (GCSAA) President Timothy O'Neill's final message as president. States that "when [O'Neill thinks] of 2005, [he thinks] of the strides [they've] made with The Environmental Institute for Golf to make sure that the game of golf is compatible with the environment." Discusses how the Golf Industry Show (GIS) "[moved] from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. It was hard on the association and its staff, which did a great job of turning one of the 100 largest trade shows in America around on short notice and getting it booked into Atlanta, where [one] can be assured that the show's traditional quality will continue." Also discusses how "the first wave of Professional Development Initiative requirements for renewal of Class A status comes due in June [2006]. This will be an important milestone for GCSAA membership standards as it will be the first indication of member acceptance of these standards and the direction they will lead the profession." |
