Suggests that the first step is to review the problem by confirming that the problem is a gopher, as "these burrowing pests can often be confused with ground squirrels, moles and voles." Mentions that exclusion methods "can be used in small areas with expensive ornamental planting." States that "underground utility and sprinkler lines can be protected from gnawing gophers by surrounding them with 15 to 20 cm [centimeter]...of gravel measuring at least 2.5 cm...in diameter." Suggests that "if exclusion and environmental changes do not decrease the gopher problem on [the] course, work with [a] wildlife professional to determine the appropriate baiting and trapping techniques."
