Abstract/Contents: | Details the design of early golf courses. States that "the layout of the early golf courses required no drawings. Nature determined the routing." Explains that "the first golf course 'technical' drawings that have come down...from a notable designer were two rough small sketches from the 1850's when 'Old Tom' Morris was responsible for adjusting the 18th green at St Andrews." Also states that "probably not until the end of the 19th century were descriptive drawings of any construction value really required." |
