| Abstract/Contents: | Presents an experiment conducted to "obtain preliminary information on the response of several adapted southern grasses to daylength and temperature." Describes the conditions of the experiment, including the various seeds and vegetative material used and the varying greenhouse temperatures. Details the daylength for flowering in each of the species. States that "there was no significant difference in the weight of seed produced under 14- and 16-hour daylengths...[and] in general, temperatures below 55° at night inhibited flowering in all five species." |
