Abstract/Contents: | Discusses cigarette cards featuring golf courses. States that "one of the earliest references to a golf course on a card is in a W.D.& H.O. Wills issue of 'Seaside Resorts' in 1899. Card No.46, entitled 'St. Andrews,' showed a coloured [colored] scene of two red coated golfers strolling along the foreshore of the bay with a caddy in tow - but the golf course itself is nowhere to be seen." Details several cards featuring golf courses. Concludes that "the uniqueness of each and every golf course in the world has been reflected over the years by the fascinating world of golf cards." |
