Abstract/Contents:Discusses the effect of 2,4-D on photosynthetic activity of susceptible plants. Results indicate that "the herbicidal effect was considerably more drastic and rapid when the 2,4-D was applied by immersing the test plants in the solution momentarily than when the same solution was sprayed on the plants." States that "this observation suggests that 2,4-D might kill mature grasses." Details a study conducted to determine the effect of 2,4-D on mature grasses and under what conditions 2,4-D will kill plants. Also describes the physical effects of 2,4-D on grasses.
