| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate possible methods of controlling Japanese beetle (JB) and European chafer (EC) white grubs on a golf course rough. Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "an area of non-irrigated rough at The Country Club of Jackson in Jackson County, [Michigan] was used for this test. Due to the large no. [number] of treatments, four separate tests were conducted at the same time in the same rough...Grubs were collected at the time of sampling and were examined under a dissecting microscope in the lab to determine if they were JB or EC." Lists treatments used in the study, including AE F106464 00 GR01 BO 0.25G; Complete Insect Killer 0.2G, Merit 75WP; Season-Long Grub Control 0.2G; Sevin Lawn Insect Granules 2G; DPX E2Y45 1.67SC; Arena 50WDG; V-10192 2.2EC; and Dylox 6.2G. Reports that "all of the treatments significantly reduced grub no. [number] compared with untreated checks." |
