| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "evaluate commonly used fungicides and a novel soil surfactant for the control of type-I FRS [fairy ring symptoms] in turfgrass." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "treatments were arranged as a randomized complete block design with three replications, and individual plot size measured 0.8 x 1.5 m [meters]...since no supplemental irrigation was added, the study site only received natural rainfall. All treatments were applied twice on 25 May and 20 June 2006, on approximately a 28-day interval." Reports that "two fairy ring species were identified from basidiocarps as Agaricus and Marasmius spp...Less FRS was observed in all fungicide-treated plots applied alone or in combination with the soil surfactant, compared to the untreated plots at either water carrier volume of 1628 1 ha-1 [per hectare]." Concludes that "the best control of type-I FRS was achieved with fungicides plus the soil surfactant applied at either water carrier volume." |
