| Abstract/Contents: | Presents "a practical examination of synergism among fungicides for dollar spot control on creeping bentgrass." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "fungicide treatments were applied once. After the deposit was dry, plots were inoculated with sorghum- or rye-seed cultures of the pathogen. Plots were inspected daily for the first appearance of dollar spot symptoms. In the second experiment, treatments were applied three times at 21-day intervals." Reports that "the dollar spot outbreaks differed between locations...[and] disease control was expressed as a percentage relative to disease severity in untreated plots." Concludes that "results of this study failed to provide consistent and reproducible evidence of fungicide synergism for control of dollar spot using selected products and application rates. [Researchers] suggest that there is a low probability for turfgrass managers to take advantage of fungicide synergism to control dollar spot using the products and rates previously reported." |
