Abstract/Contents:Describes damages caused to the Key West Golf Club in Florida by Hurricane Wilma in 2005. States that "four feet of seawater lay atop the club's bermudagrass greens and inundated the facility's irrigation ponds for almost seven hours, contaminating its supply of fresh water." Explains that General Manager Doug Carter "took the opportunity to examine seashore paspalum because of its ability to tolerate salt-laden and brackish water." Discusses potential advantages and disadvantages of seashore paspalum. Concludes that "despite the seeming abundance of advantages, paspalum varieties aren't panaceas for all of the golf industry's turf ills."
