| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses routine maintenance of turf maintenance equipment. Explains that maintenance is "fixing any sort of mechanical, hydraulic or electronic device should it break or otherwise become out of order; performing routine actions that keep the device in working order; and taking preventative action so problems don't occur in the first place." Defines preventative maintenance as "a combination of three tasks: essential care, fixed-time maintenance and condition monitoring. Essential care involves failure prevention and comprises tasks such as detailed cleaning, lubrication, alignment, balancing, procedures, adjustments, grinding and operating and installation procedures. Fixed time maintenance includes replacements performed on a fixed schedule, regardless of equipment condition." Recommends keeping equipment warranty information filed with service and repair documentation. |
