The architect must possess a unique combination of artistry, engineering, knowledge, training and experience in all (or most) of the disciplines required to take an idea from concept through contsruction, including", "golf, golfers and golf history"; "landscape architecture"; "environmental science"; "civil engineering"; "agronomy"; "cost estimating"; "contracts, plans and specifications"; and "project management and construction." Concludes that "the best way to save money is to use a golf course architect to design and head a construction project, rather than saving design fees and paying later for unsatisfactory designs and construction projects." |
