Explains the difference between spoon-feeding and foliar fertilization, stating that "foliar fertilization is a form of spoonfeeding where the nutrients are taken up by the leaves as opposed to the roots." Discusses the mechanisms and consequences of foliar uptake and concludes that "foliar fertilization can be a very effective tool for golf course superintendents."
