Abstract/Contents: | States that although "growing and maintaining putting surfaces during the heat of the summer" can be a challenge, "there is research showing regular pesticide use and cultural practices designed to minimize stress often can help superintendents avoid putting green failure." Focuses on mowing height and the potential of "double cutting at 0.140 inches and rolling" to "duplicate green speeds achieved by single cutting at 0.110 inches." Reports that "raising mowing heights and double cutting also led to less severe incidences of anthracnose," and that rolling may potentially be done "more often than [was] previously thought [possible] without creating significant stress to the plant." |
