Abstract/Contents: | States that "the U.S [United States] Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a report of its findings regarding its investigation into athletic turf and its link to lead. The agency concluded that the risk of exposure to lead is minimal." Provides potential reasons why the study was criticized stating it "used just 14 samples,[and] is inaqequate and too flawed in its execution to proclaim that synthetic turf is 'safe for all ages.'" Notes that the Synthetic Turf Council (STC), which represents the industry, responded by announcing its own voluntary lead reduction standards." |
