Abstract/Contents: | Discusses possible considerations when selecting a golf course irrigation system, highlighting pump selection, water supply, and piping layout. Describes different types of irrigation system pumps, including the centrifugal pump, the deep well cylinder or rod pump, deep well jet pump, deep well turbine pump, and the deep well submersible pump. Also discusses irrigation system maintenance, stating that "developments...in the pump industry have been to a great extent directed to a reduction of maintenance problems in the operation of pumps and water supply systems. Simplification of design, inter-changeability of parts and improved materials of construction have gone a long way to accomplish this." |
