| Abstract/Contents: | Offers suggestions for hiring golf course staff, discussing recruitment and selection and possible legal, moral, and business costs and benefits. Explains that "recruitment and selection (R and S) are often thought of as one activity, and it is true that they are closely connected and both are directed to the aim of obtaining suitable employees for the organisation [organization]. However, each function requires different skills and expertise." Presents possible procedures for recruiting employees, stating that "the first step in a Recruitment procedure is to decide that there is a vacancy to fill. When a person leaves the organisation, the natural response is to replace them through Recruitment." Also discusses developing a job description; determining what qualification, skills, and experience is required; and determining whether or not salary and benefits should be included in the job advertisement. Also suggests sending "candidates an information pack. This should include a full job description and more detailed information about the job and the organisation." |
