Abstract/Contents:Discusses the use of organics in turfgrass management. Lists potential types of organics, including manures and composts, organic extracts, organisms, and soil conditioners. Also discusses potential problems with the use of organics, stating that "the long term use of poultry manure can create a dual problem of phosphate excess in soils to the extent that a negative phosphate sorption occurs, with consequent leaching into water ways...Heavy metals are a common contaminant of sewage sludges."
