Also discusses potential problems with the use of organics, stating that "the long term use of poultry manure can create a dual problem of phosphate excess in soils to the extent that a negative phosphate sorption occurs, with consequent leaching into water ways...Heavy metals are a common contaminant of sewage sludges." |
