Abstract/Contents:"Several fungicides were applied to a red fescue turf area naturally affected with red thread in Delaware County, OH. The turf received minimal fertility, 2 lbs N per year, was miantained at 2 in mowing height, and received 1 in irrigation per week during drought periods. Treatments were replicated four times in 4 ft x 10 ft plots in a randomized complete block design. Fungicides were applied in 4.0 gal of water/1000 sq ft using a CO2 powered back pack test plot sprayer with an 8020 Tee Jet nozzle. Fungicide treatments were applied as follows: a) single treatments made 21 Jun; b) double treatments made 21 Jun and 3 Jul; c) triple treatments made 21 Jun, 3 and 14 Jul. Disease ratings were made on 8, 14, and 30 Jul. Turfgrass quality was improved throughout the rating period with three applications of Bayleton, Chipco 26019, Rizolex and Scott's Fluid Fungicide (medium and low), and two applications of Scott's Fluid Fungicide at the medium rate when compared to untreated turf."
