| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "1) to evaluate the effectiveness of the herbicides on common dandelion"; "2) to determine the tolerances of three Kentucky bluegrass turfs to the selected herbicides"; and "3) to evaluate the effectiveness of the selected herbicides for plant growth regulation of the three Kentucky bluegrass turfs." Lists treatments evaluated in the study, including triclopyr and imazaquin. Reports that "single herbicide applications and combinations of AC 247,466 plus triclopyr and imazaquin plus triclopyr resulted in no significant phytotoxic response of the turf. However, all combinations of AC 247,466 plus imazaquin did show a phytotoxic response." Also reports that "both imazaquin and AC 247,666 reduced mowing need over an eight week period compared to triclopyr and the nontreated check." Notes that "the highest control of common dandelion was achieved by tricolopry alone at .125 and .25 lbs [pounds] ai [active ingredient]/A [acre]." |
