| Abstract/Contents: | States that "three commercial insecticides were tested for field efficacy against ABW [annual bluegrass weevil] on golf course fairway turf in spring 2007." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the products included Allectus, a commercial combination of bifenthrin and imidacloprid; Merit (imidacloprid); and Arena (chlothianidin)." Reports that "there were more than 190 larvae per 190 ft2 [square feet] in the untreated checks, well about the generally accepted action level of 30 to 80 larvae per ft2. All treatments reduced larval populations significantly compared to the untreated plots. However, applications of Merit or Arena, regardless of rate, did not provide agronomically acceptable levels of control." |
