| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of several insecticides "for control of ants on a Kentucky bluegrass fairway." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the turf (90% Kentucky bluegrass, 10% perennial ryegrass) was maintained at a ht [height] of 0.5 inch. Thatch accumulation (finger compressed) in the plot area was 0.2 inch." Lists treatments evaluated in the study, including Meridian 25WG + Scimitar SC, Meridian 25WG, Talstar F, Arena 50WDG, and Acelepryn SC. Reports that "all treatments, except for Meridian 25WG (12.7 oz [ounces] product/acre) and Acelepryn SC provided statistically significant reductions in ant no. [number] when compared to the untreated check...No phytotoxicity was observed." |
