Abstract/Contents:Successful treatment of lawn problems depends upon early and accurate identification of an insect infestation, selection of an appropriate insecticide, and an effective application program. Insects which feed below ground include: white grubs and billbugs. Insects feeding above ground include: sod webworms, cutworms, armyworms, and chinch bugs. Treatments with specific insecticides are recommended. Table includes formulation and amounts per 1,000 sq. ft. for Carbaryl, Diazinon, and Dursban for chinch bug control.
