Abstract/Contents:While breeding efforts have modestly increased the stress tolerance of some bentgrasses, the inevitable loss of some pesticides and reductions in water availability make it unrealistic to expect that bentgrass greens can be maintained in some geographic locations, including the southeastern United States and tropical-to-subtropical areas of the world. What does it take to produce consistent championship green conditioning with bermudagrass? Summarizes green construction, cultivar selection, grooming program, fertilization, thatch control, verticutting, topdressing, and rolling considerations.
